Pappettan is a perfect gentleman; courteous, attentive and caring. So, it didn't come as a surprise for me when he was doing the best to his appearance while preparing to meet a lady. Don't get any ideas. Remember, Pappettan is a perfect gentleman.
A smile broke out on my lips when I heard him muttering about picking up a flower. He went out and came back after selecting a flower. When I saw him, his face was lit up with an all-knowing smile. The smile signalled that he met his objective and the lady was going to be impressed.
Me: *waits for an explanation*
Pappettan: *sporting an ear-to-ear smile* She is going to be happy.
Me: *questioningly* Are you sure?
Pappettan: Yes! Any fool can pick a flower. But it takes an intelligent man to pick a special flower which others have overlooked.
Me: *can't handle this anymore* But... you are holding a cauliflower...
Pappettan: *surprised at my ignorance* Cauliflower is also a flower. See... Cauli....FLOWER.
Before you ask, I am not aware about outcome of the meeting.
